SIFA’s full-fledged Film direction course allows students to explore all our in-house facilities under one roof for the art of film direction.
Students are taught to focus to tell their own story through exploration of concepts of screenwriting, script breakdown and editing aesthetics. Constant script development and analysis exercises, extensive discussions in which students analyse each other's scripts and selecting a script on each genre are part of the course. Also students learn how to visualise a story, scene order, story board their ideas.
Students are exposed to the best of World Cinema, thereby widening their cinematic vocabulary and expanding their horizons and possibilities. They are given in-class exercises dealing with casting, rehearsing and extracting performances etc.
With our theory and practical classes students also acquire a technical understanding of basic cinematography and editing, voice dubbing, Vfx, re-recording, sound designing, sound mixing, colour correction etc.

SIFA’s Sound Engineering programmes introduce students to theories, practices, and tools used in digital audio production, focussing on the fundamental theories and concepts behind various types of digital audio tools. SIFA's students will learn the various classification of microphones that include dynamic, condenser, ribbon microphones etc, and their professional application. The course also explains the various technical specifications of microphones and selecting the right microphone for the required application.

The course explains the various surround sound formats such as Dolby Digital, DTS, SDDS etc. They will also be introduced to the art of surround mixing at our mixing theatre.
Also, the course explains the general maintenance of studio gadgets and the basic hardware know-how that include soldering electronic joints,and making cables and connectors etc.
SIFA’s 5.1/7.1 Dolby Certified mixing theatre, with D command ES control surface, Protools HD Ultimate with Martin Audio 3 way speaker system delivers an optimum sound quality. Studio is equipped with two HDX hardware accelerator engine. It is built to perform 18 DSP processing cores, 768 voices and up to 192 I/O channels.
Learning the principles of surround sound and 5.1/7.1 audio mixing technology is of crucial knowledge for specialists in the audio industry. The course explains the project setting premixing and various surround sound formats such as Dolby Digital, DTS, SDDS etc. The students will also be introduced to the art of mixing in surround sound on Dcommand ES mixing console and with the Dolby processor.
The students will be taught how to use equalisers, compressors, reverbs, delay units and noise reduction systems and various industry stanard plug-ins.

SIFA’s students will be trained on a well equiped DI suite with our DaVinci colour grading suite, one of the most powerful world leading grading and finishing software which can master and deliver up to 4k resolution for online, tv or cinema using the high-end hardware solutions. Students will be offered colour grading sessions with the industry standard colourist and faculty where you can grade real-time colour grading for your project.
Colour grading has always been a vital aspect of film and video, it sets the overall theme and tone of a project whether it’s commercial, long form television or a feature film. It’s one of the most demanding creative and technical processes and it requires a solution with flexibility and responsiveness.

Our curriculum is designed to make students participate in both the technical and creative demands of shooting films, television shows, music videos and web series. Students study under the Academy’s award-winning faculty of professional cinematographers who not only assist students but also provide insight into the current industry trends and professional realities. Thus students gain extensive experience learning how to overcome the many technical challenges they will encounter at the location. Under direct faculty supervision, students will be given the opportunity to shoot and edit several short projects. Through lectures, discussions, in-class exercises, outside readings, and film viewings they gain an overview of the film production process.

Topics including high-key vs. low-key lighting, bright and dark scenes, indoor day/night, and outdoor day/night will all be explored from both an expressive and practical approach.
The complete training will be conducted in SIFA’s professional Dubbing & recording studio.The course offers Complete professional guidance by expert faculty, including practical & individual recording.Voice fault finding, correcting and modulating voice for a particular module.
